Car Park media targets Asda shoppers immediately outside the store. This includes car park banners, trolley bays and panels

Tell us about the Opportunity / What is it?

The Asda Car Park package targets 18 million shoppers per week across all Asda stores and brings brands to front of mind prior to making buying decisions in store. The Asda media centre works to develop bespoke campaigns that include one or more of Car Park banners, Trolley bays and panels, cash machines and 6 sheet posters allowing brands and key categories to promote price deals, brand launches and brand awareness.

What is the Marketing Objective?

The Car Park package is at a crucial part of the customer journey. As the shopper drives in to store and parks their car the clearly visible Car Park banners promote product and price. Picking up their trolley with its prominent advertising panel from the branded Trolley bays they proceed to take cash out of the ATM where an unique brand prompt reminds them about a brand or offer in store. They finally pass the 6 sheet posters as they walk into the foyer and commence their shopping experience.

How does it work?

Car Park banners:1 week campaigns available printed on 6 x 1 metre banners with a prominent pack shot and price message. Trolley bays: 4 week campaigns available as fully branded campaigns posted on the sides of trolley bays. Trolley panels: 4 week campaigns positioned on prominent panels attached to the trolleys. Cash machines: 3 week branding campaigns available while shoppers are viewing the cash machine during transaction and idle time. 6 sheet back lit posters: 2 week campaigns available on a number of poster sites at store entrance.

Who's used it in the past?

-Car Park banners: Nescafe, GSK's Panadol, Philadelphia and Cadbury's. -Trolley bays: L'Oreal, Coca Cola, Fosters and Kronenburg. -Cash machines: Weightwatchers, Mornflakes and Whiskas saw a 19% increases in sales during the period when it was on screen. -6 sheet posters: Smirnoff, Walkers Crisps, Budweiser and the Hollywood film 'Hancock' sold 20% more dvd's at the stores which promoted it via 6 sheets
