Opportunities exist for partners to sign sector-exclusive deals to support the team and/or for one brand to potentially become 'principal sponsor'. Sponsors will be able to capitalise on the wave of interest in English sport and multi-sports Games driven by the World Cup and London 2012. Bespoke rights packages will include appropriate designations and access to the new 'We are England' team brand plus access to athletes, content and 'money can't buy' hospitality opportunities before, during and after the Games. What is the Marketing Objective?

Associate brands with the excitement of top-class competitive sport and with a successful national team. Benefit from wider positive associations with emerging talent, commitment and focus, health, fitness and wellbeing and diversity (a team of over 500 competing across 17 sports and 4 para sports). Harness patriotic enthusiasm for an England team that competes only once every 4 years and which is always successful.

How does it work?

Who's used it in the past?

The team was entirely funded by Sport England for the last games in Melbourne so there are no legacy associations of brands with the team. There are many case studies of brands successfully activating their support of national teams at both Commonwealth and Olympic games.
