How does it work?

The Football Quiz is only transmitted to Sky's commercial subscribers namely 39,000 pubs, clubs and bars in the UK. The quiz is transmitted on channel 847 and requires the landlords to switch to the dedicated channel. There are 20 broadcast quizzes each football season following selected fixtures on Ford Monday night football on Sky Sports. The landlord can either run the quiz as a formal quiz night or leave the customers to play amongst themselves. Quiz sheets are available for download online at www.thepubchannel.com. 74% of landlords have played the quiz.

Who's used it in the past?

Ford used to sponsor the football quiz from 1998-2004.

Features / Benefits

Advertisers and clients have the opportunity to cross promote this using other advertising and sales promotion activity outside of Sky Media. It is relatively untouched territory which requires creativity and can be developed with an integrated approach. The benefit here is that Sky Media can take a flexible approach to content depending on the requirements of the advertiser. For example the quiz can be based around an alternative sport (e.g. Rugby, Cricket) or an event (e.g. The World Cup Quiz? The FA Cup quiz?)
