Tell us about the Opportunity / What is it?

This brand new series will give amateur cooks a chance to have their homemade food products placed on the shelves of the biggest supermarkets in Britain. The opportunity is to sponsor the broadcast element of the series with the chance of extending the association to online and product placement. Every episode will feature two pairs of home cooks who will have a day to cook their products followed by a day to sell their products at a shop, market or festival. The pair who makes the most profit will go on to pitch their product to a panel of leading industry figures.

What is the Marketing Objective?

This is Sky 1's newest cooking show and is sure to be a hit with viewers.

How does it work?

Scheduling will take place from August 2012 across both Sky1 and Sky 1 HD comprising of 20 x 60 minute episodes; to include repeats on Sky 1 & Sky 2 and any showings on Sky Anytime & Sky Go. Opportunities for product placement and online extension also exist. Sponsorship shall include accreditation of Opening and Closing credits of 15 seconds, Break Bumpers of 2 x 5 seconds (3 x centre breaks per 1 hour show) and accreditation on programme specific trailers over 20 seconds.

Big name presenters Gizzi Erskine and James Averdieck will bring proven expertise to the show. Benefits from the UK's current interest in culinary shows. New format cooking show, unique to Sky 1. Sky 1 was recently named channel of the year at the Broadcast Awards following its investment in original programming. Cooks to Market is part of this investment.
